Or stay tuned for some great time saving tips for those who are not ready to let another person handle it for you. For now here are just a few that we use.
2) Clean Up While You Work
We all know this one but its easier said than done. But it still must be said. Clutter can hinder you from getting to what needs to be cleaned. So, as you make the messes, pick up and put things away immediately as you go. It will save you a lot of time after you are done with your project but also during the week as you go.
3) Stock Up on Cleaning Supplies
Its always a pain when you do not have the needed supplies on hand. You go to clean a room and then your window cleaner is out or your vacuuming and the belt breaks. We have all been there done that but if you buy 2 belts and have one on hand you never have ore than a few minutes delay.
Get your self a cleaning caddy that holds all of your cleaning supplies so that you don’t have to run from one room to another while you are in the middle of a cleaning project. The cleaning product caddy will hold the essential cleaning products that you need and you wont find your self running back and forth into the other rooms to get that window cleaner or cleaning rags.
Your a busy Kalispell Professional and can tackle this with ease. If you do find your self getting over whelmed, call us we can help you get caught up or just take a few chores off your list.
4) Clean Toys in the dishwasher
Everyone knows toys can get pretty grimy and its a long process to clean them often enough that they don’t carry all of those kid germs. Simply throw them into the dish washer and they’ll come out all clean and sanitized. Make sure they are not electronic. If you think that they may melt in there, turn the drying cycle off and just leave them while you go to work. By the time you get home they should be dry.
The fabric ones might work best in the cloths washer. Use a pillow case or mesh bag. Also make sure they can be cleaned. Colors may run or they may have an electronic component
Be wise and check to see whats the best option for that toy.
5) Vinegar and Baking Soda is Your Cleaning Buddy
Vinegar and baking soda are 2 ingredients you must have. Best thing I ever added to our arsenal. Coming soon is a list of different ways we use it. Ovens are one of the hardest things to clean right?? Stay tuned.
6) Get the extender to clean those ceiling Fans
Best thing to save a LOT of time Quickie Microfiber Flexible Static Duster > Saves us a bunch of time cleaning these ceiling fans when we don’t have to go grab a ladder and climb up to them and wipe each blade. (We do do this on our deep cleans but for a simple weekly wipe, use these)
7) Utilize your Vacuum to Clean Sweep those wood or linoleum floors
Instead of sweeping your floors, just use your vacuum. Many have floor options now and it will save you lots of time. Then grab a swiffer to do the quick mop. You don’t need to do a deep, time intrusive full on mop each week. A simple run with the swiffer is great. Keeps your Kalispell home looking great
8) Clean Your Iron
Is your iron black and scorching your clothes? Use your iron on the steam setting and iron salt. It will clean right off.
9) Remove Pet Hair
Leave a lint roller in your caddy so you can do quick wipe downs to remove pet hair. (Leave another in your car to use before you get out) I brought one to the Kalispell office and left it in the drawer because you know that hair seems to follow you every where.
10) Get Rid of Water Stains
Having a problem with water stains? Cut a few lemons in half and rub them on the problem areas. Give the acid time to work, then rinse everything off. If that doesn’t do it get out the liquid comet and a brush. Scrub vigorously. It may take a few times but it works.
11) Stubborn windows?
If you want streak free windows and mirrors, use a dry paper towel and a lemon. It is truely amazing and smells great. I use them & then use a squeegee afterwards to wipe it off. We are working on creating a citris blend to clean with that also disinfects. Its an all around your Kalispell home or office cleaner that does not cause a chemical residue.
12) Use Old Toothbrushes to clean those hard to reach areas
Old tooth brushes are a very useful addition to your caddy. You will find so many uses for them. If you are squeamish of using the used version, the dollar store has bunches of them for a $1. The garbage disposal can get nasty. Use an old toothbrush to scrub it down. Finish it off with a spritz of lemon juice for a fresh smell.
13) Don’t Spend Time Scrubbing Your Oven Clean
Run the self clean option on your oven and come back later to wipe it out. However, those stubborn, baked on brown stains can remain.
Put a layer of baking soda in your emptied oven and spritz it with vinegar. Get something else done while it soaks, then come back and it should wipe off pretty easily. Most of the time it simply scrubs right out with a scrubby when you do this. However, life happens and it may take a few times.
14) Clean Your wood surfaces – Stubborn Stains
Try this to get those stubborn stains off of your wood surfaces. If your budding artists have gotten a little marker on your wood floor, just dab it with toothpaste and scrub it off. Disclaimer: make sure to try the tooth paste in a discrete corner first to make sure it doesn’t damage your flooring.
15) Clean Your Carpet
Speaking of stains, spraying protein stains with peroxide will get those out. For tougher ones, spray some Oxy Clean for Carpets on the stains, place a towel over it until it’s gone.
16) Clean and De-Grim Your Vents
Air vents are some of the hardest spots to clean but are extremely important for the safety of the house. Put a towel on a butter knife and wipe it along the vent for an easy clean. Or put it in the dishwasher. I put them in the dishwasher once a month. Make sure if you have small animals that you cover the holes. Ive had a cat try to enter through this empty hole.
17) Paper towels, quick wipes and news papers.
Keep those old news papers. Utilize those quick wipes. They are perfect for everything from dishes to cleaning off the table and even the windows.
18) Clean as You Go
Don’t leave everything to do all at once. Tidy and clean as you go.
19) Prioritize your daily or weekly cleaning chores
Having a perfect home isn’t a necessity. Do what you can and if you fall behind, don’t be hard on yourself. This is a great time to call on us to help or get you back on track. Call us and find out how we can save you time and money, with our contract cleans. 406.260.5761
20). Use essential oils – they are a great cleaning alternative to those harsh chemicals and often do a better job.
Grab peppermint oil, mix a few drops with water and clean your granite countertops. I have clients tell me that it is the best granite cleaner they have ever found!
A few drops of Citrus oil in a spray bottle of water can substitute for disinfectant and will clean that counter top to make it germ free.
21) Delegate your cleaning list
You’re not superwoman. Kids like to help Mom, give them a few chores each day. It great for them to learn how to clean a home and also participate in the daily tasks. Give a few to your kids and a few tasks to other people so you’re not stuck doing everything yourself. Children of all ages can do chores, just make sure they are age appropriate.
